Ingredients

25 Minutes
4 Servings
  • FOR SUGAR SYRUP
  • 1 cupsugar
  • 1 cupwater
  • 1 tspcardamom powdered
  • 1 tbsplemon juice
  • FOR BREAD GULAB JAMUN
  • 6 bread slices white
  • 2 tbspmilk powder
  • 1 tbspfresh cream
  • 3-4 tbspmilk warm

Steps

25 Minutes
  1. 1

    SUGAR SYRUP RECIPE:
    In a wide pan, take 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water and get to a boil.

    Then simmer for 4 minutes till the sugar syrup turns slightly sticky.Now add cardamom powder and add lemon juice to stop crystallization process.
    cover and keep aside.

  3. 3

    BREAD GULAB JAMUN RECIPE:
    Remove the sides of bread slices and blend like breadcrumbs.
    Transfer it to bowl and add 2-3 tbsp of milk powder and a tbsp of cream.Mix well.

  4. 4

    Slowly add warm milk little by little and knead to a smooth and soft dough.
    Grease the hand and make small balls without any cracks on balls.
    Heat the oil or ghee on medium flame and when the it is moderately hot, fry the jamuns till golden brown.

  5. 5

    Immediately, drop the hot jamuns into hot sugar syrup and let it rest for 2 hours by cover the lid

  6. 6

    Finally, bread gulab jamuns have doubled in size. serve warm with ice cream or cold garnished with few chopped nuts.
