Steps

  1. 1

1st soak chana dal for about 4 hours.

  2. 2

Then clean it and put in the cooker add a little salt, 1/2 tsp ghee and half cup water.give 4 whistles.

  3. 3

Then let it cool down after that we will grind the cooked chana dal.

  4. 4

In a pan add 1/2tsp ghee and add the chana dal paste let it cook for about 4 to 5 minutes make sure flame is low. So that dal will not stick to the pan.

  5. 5

Now add jaggery to it cadamom powder, grated coconut and nutmeg powder and mix it properly

  6. 6

Let it cooked till the paste became dry and all water evaporates.

  7. 7

Then turn off the flame and transfer it to a plate. Let it cool down.

  8. 8

After that apply little ghee in modak mould and put the paste in it and give the modak shape.

  9. 9

Same thing you can do without mould. Make a ball shape and with the help of 3 finger make a shape of mountain

  10. 10

Then with the help of fork or toothpick draw lines. And our modak is ready.
