Banana Raita

There are so many types of raitas we can make. But banana raita is very much different than the other raitas as it has the sweetness of bananas and a very distinct flavour from split mustard. Sev (gram flour noodle like dry snack) gives it a different taste and texture. This raita is made very quickly and easily but it is very delicious and it enhances the taste of the whole meal. Banana raita can be served as a side dish or it can be served with khakhra or parathas. It is delicious even on its own.

Steps
- 1
First of all whisk yoghurt nicely. Now add chopped banana, finely chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, sugar, salt and split mustard to the whisked yoghurt and mix everything very well. Keep this raita in the fridge until the time of serving. It is better to prepare it ahead of time of serving as the flavour of mustard develops with time.

At the time of serving, add sev to it and mix it well. Usually plain sev is added to it but today I tried it with aloo bhujia and it gave it a very nice minty flavour. So you can add any kind of sev of your choice. Banana raita can be served as a side dish with a main meal.
