I wanted to make a simmered dish with a different flavor, so I tried adding oyster sauce and gochujiang.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1thigh Chicken thigh meat
  2. 1/2Daikon radish
  3. 1Japanese leek
  4. 200 mlWater
  5. 3 tbsp★ Sake
  6. 1 tbspSoy sauce
  7. 1 tbspSugar
  8. 1 tbspOyster sauce
  9. 1 tsp★ Gochujang
  10. 1/2 tsp★ Chicken stock powder
  11. 1knob ★ Ginger (julienned)

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces. Cut the daikon radish into chunks and parboil in the microwave. Cut the ginger into thin strips and cut the white part of the leek into very fine strips.

    Add sesame oil to a frying pan and cook the chicken skin side down. Flip the chicken.

    Add the daikon radish and cook until browned.

    Add the ★ ingredients. Cover with an otoshibuta (dropped lid) and simmer for 20 - 30 minutes (until the daikon radish is softened).

    Arrange on a plate and garnish with the leeks.
