Ingredients

Serves 5 servings
  • 10 1/2 ozground pork (300 grams)
  • 1 blockfirm tofu
  • 5green onions
  • 5 clovesgarlic
  • 1 pieceginger
  • For the sauce:
  • 1 teaspoonchili oil (such as S&B brand or similar)
  • 1 tablespoondoubanjiang (fermented chili bean paste)
  • 1 tablespoonsoy sauce
  • 2 teaspoonssugar
  • For the marinade:
  • 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  • 1 tablespoonrice wine
  • 1 tablespoonmirin
  • 1/2 teaspoonchili oil
  • 1/2 teaspoonground black pepper

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Prepare the ground pork and firm tofu.

    Gather all the sauce ingredients.

    Marinate the ground pork with the marinade ingredients for 30 minutes.

    Cut the tofu into small cubes and set aside.

    Wash the green onions and chop them.

    Peel the garlic and mince it.

    Peel the ginger and mince it.

    Heat a pan and add vegetable oil. Sauté the minced garlic and ginger until fragrant.

    Add half of the chopped green onions and stir-fry briefly.

    Add the doubanjiang to the pan.

    Add the marinated ground pork and cook until partially done.

    Add a suitable amount of water and stir-fry, cooking the pork until about 80% cooked.

    Add the tofu cubes, cover the pan, and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Before serving, add the remaining green onions and stir-fry briefly, then turn off the heat.

    Drizzle with chili oil before plating.
