Rajasthani Dal Bati Churma

Ingredients

  1. For bati :-
  2. 2 cupwheat flour / atta
  3. 1/4 tspsalt
  4. 1/4 tspbaking powder
  5. 1/4 cupghee / clarified butter
  6. As neededwater to knead
  7. For churma:
  8. 2 tbspghee / clarified butter
  9. 3 tbsppowdered sugar
  10. 2 tbspcashew & almond (chopped) ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  11. For Dal:-
  12. 1/2 cupmoong dal / green gram dal
  13. 1/4 cupmasoor dal / pink lentils
  14. 1/4 cupchana dal / bengal gram dal (soaked 30 minutes)
  15. 3 cupwater
  16. 3 tspghee / clarified butter
  17. 1 tspmustard
  18. 1 tspcumin / jeera
  19. pinchhing / asafoetida
  20. 1 onion (finely chopped)
  21. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  22. 1 green chilli (slit)
  23. 1tomato (finely chopped)
  24. ¼ tsp turmeric
  25. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  26. ¼ tsp garam masala
  27. 1 tspsalt
  28. 1 cup water
  29. 2 tbspcoriander (finely chopped)

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup wheat flour, ¼ tsp salt, ¼ tsp baking powder and ¼ cup ghee.

    Mix well making sure the dough is moist.

  3. 3

    Now add water as required and knead the dough.

  4. 4

    Pinch a small ball sized dough and roll with x impression.

  5. 5

    Place the rolled bati in each mould of appe pan

  6. 6

    Cover and cook on low flame for 30 minutes all sides.

  7. 7

    Dip the bati in ghee for more soft bati from inside.

  8. 8

    Finally, enjoy dal bati churma along with slices of onion and chilli.
