Microwave-Steamed Ground Beef and Tofu

This is a great recipe when you need to make something after being out all day. I made this for my tofu-loving husband.

You don't need to drain the tofu. The moisture that comes out of the tofu will add a nice flavor.
Adjust the cooking time to your microwave. Be careful to cook the meat all the way through. Use a large dish so that it will be easier to cook all the way through. Recipe by Taunbi-

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 1 blockSilken tofu
  2. 100 gramsGround pork
  3. 1/2Japanese leek
  4. 1 tspGrated ginger
  5. 1 tbsp■Soy sauce
  6. 1 tbsp■Oyster sauce
  7. 1/2 tsp■Salt
  8. 1 tbsp■Sake
  9. 1/2 tbsp■Sesame oil
  10. 50 ml■Chicken stock

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the ground pork and Japanese leek into small pieces. Grate the ginger. Combine in a bowl.

    Add the ■ seasonings and mix.

    Using a spoon, scoop the tofu into a heatproof dish. Arrange so that they do not overlap.

    Pour Step 2 over the tofu. Rather than piling it up high, spread the ingredients out so that it heats evenly.

    Wrap with plastic wrap and microwave for 7 minutes.

  6. 6

    Use chopsticks to open a space in the middle and check to see if there's any red left to the meat. It's ready when the centers have cooked through.

    Transfer to dishes, breaking up the meat portion with the chopsticks.

    If the meat is still red, heat some more while keeping an eye on it.

  9. 9

    If you like it spicy, add some doubanjiang or ra-yu.
