I came up with the way to make a delicious pork don quickly using mixed flavoring ingredients.

Use thin pork belly as much as possible.
Also use thin dashi stock.
If you have time, let it cool down and warm it again before you eat. This will make the flavors richer. Recipe by nitcho_PR

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 400 gramsThinly sliced pork belly
  2. 2Onion
  3. 1/3Burdock root
  4. 800 mlBonito soup stock (thin)
  5. 100 mlSoy sauce
  6. 100 mlMirin
  7. 3 tbspSugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cut the burdock root into long thin shavings (easy if you use a vegetable peeler).

  2. 2

    Cut the pork belly and onions into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 3

    Put bonito soup stock, soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a pot. Boil.

  4. 4

    Add pork belly and burdock root and boil. Skim off the scum. Simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    Add onions and simmer for another 10 minutes. Done.

  6. 6

    Add mitsuba, pickled red ginger or soft poached egg if you want.
