Delicious Sweet and Sour Pork

I've come across many recipes where the vinegar taste was too strong or it was too sweet. So, I experimented a bit to get just the right balance of sweet and sour!

If you cook the vegetables in the microwave, you don't have to sauté them! It's so easy!
If you coat the meat in katakuriko, then lumps of the starch won't form.
On Step 6, mix the sauce well once more before putting it into the pan. This is because the katakuriko will have hardened while waiting. Recipe by Puru berry

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 300 gramsPork (breast, roast, belly, thin-cuts, etc. Anything is okay! You can use chicken, too.)
  2. 1 tbsp*Soy sauce
  3. 1 tbsp*Sake
  4. 1 tsp*Sesame oil
  5. 1Katakuriko
  6. 1/2Carrot
  7. 1/2Onion
  8. 2Green peppers
  9. For the sweet and sour sauce
  10. 3 tbspVinegar
  11. 3 tbspSoy sauce
  12. 3 tbspSugar
  13. 2 tbspKetchup
  14. 2 tbspSake
  15. 1 tbspMirin
  16. 4 tbspWater
  17. 1 tbspKatakuriko

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the meat into bite-sized pieces. Season in the * ingredients and let sit for about 10 minutes.

    Roughly chop the carrots, cut the onions into wedges, and cut the green peppers into bite-sized pieces. Put into a heatproof bowl and microwave for about 3 minutes.

    Combine the sauce ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

    Put the seasoned meat into a plastic bag with the katakuriko and shake to coat.

  5. 5

    Cook in a fryer at 170°C or in a frying pan full of oil.

  6. 6

    Put the sweet and sour sauce and all the meat and vegetables into a cool frying pan. Turn on the heat and cook on medium heat while lightly mixing until the sauce has thickened.

    It will take about 2-3 minutes for the sauce to thicken.
