Easy Whole Strawberry Preserves

Homemade jam is the best kind!
Since strawberries were on sale, I made jam! This is an annual ritual.
I recommend using small strawberries!
Please adjust the amount of sugar to taste.
Since I prefer the texture of the preserves, I'm careful not to over cook them.
To jar them, sterilize a jar in boiling water, fill the jar and seal the lid while still hot, then turn it upside down until cool. Recipe by Daichantomame

Steps
- 1
Rinse the strawberries and hull!
- 2
Put the strawberries in a sauce pan, and sprinkle sugar on top. Let sit for 1 hour.
- 3
After 1 hour, the liquid should be drawn out of the strawberries like this. Simmer over low to medium heat.
- 4
Skim off the scum and add lemon juice.
- 5
It's ready within 30 minutes! It's ready when the strawberries become slightly translucent and the liquid thickens.
- 6
It's delicious served on yogurt!! Piping hot jam on ice cream is also incredibly tasty!
