A delicious Dal dish where coconut have been used along with few cashews keeping Bengal Gram Dal as the main ingredient.
Steps

Soak Dal overnight and then put to boil in pressure cooker by adding 500 ml water + salt + roughly chopped Tomatoes for 6-7 whistles.

Chop coconut into small small pieces.

Assemble all ingredients

Fry cashews to golden yellow and keep aside.

In moderately heated pan / kadhai, add 1 tbsp mustard and fry coconut pieces till golden brownish and keep aside.

In same pan / kadhai, add oil, add cumin seeds + bay leaf + dry chilli and allow to crackle (for few seconds), then add ginger + green chilli + hing and sauté till golden brown.

Now pour the boiled Dal + turmeric + salt, mix well and give 2-3 times boil.
Water can be added at this stage if want loose gravy dal. - 8
Now add coconut pieces + cashews + ghee and mix well. Simmer for 3-4 minutes and Dal is ready.

Serve this delicious Dal with steamed rice or Paratha / Puri.
