Ingredients

  1. 3-4 piecesfish🐠 (king fish, Nile perch)
  2. 1/4 cupghee
  3. 3-4finely chopped onions 🧅
  4. 1 tspmustard seeds
  5. 10garlic cloves cut into halves 🧄
  6. 1 sprigcurry leaves 🌱
  7. 2slit green chillies
  8. 2blanched tomatoes 🍅, later pureed
  9. 1 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1 tspcumin powder
  11. 2 tspkashmiri red chillies powder 🌶️
  12. 1 tspgaram masala powder
  13. 1/4 cuptamarind pulp - soak tamarind first
  14. 1/2-1 cuphot water
  15. Salt to taste 🧂
  16. 2 tbspfinely chopped coriander leaves 🌿

Steps

    Wash fish pieces 🐠 and pat dry them on kitchen towel, keep aside.

    Heat ghee, add mustard seeds when start to crackle, add garlic 🧄 saute till golden, add finely chopped onions 🧅, cook on low flame till onions 🧅 are golden brown, add curry leaves 🌱 and fry for a min.

    Add kashmiri red chillies powder 🌶️, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and mix well, cook for 1 min, add a few drops of water 💦 to prevent the spices from burning, add blanched tomato puree 🍅, salt and bring to a boil, lower the heat and cover until the oil float on top, about 15 mins.

    Add tamarind pulp, hot water 💦 and mix well, cook for 5 mins, add fish pieces 🐠, do not use spoon, it will break easy, bast the fish pieces 🐠 with gravy, cook for 8 mins or until fish pieces are tender and soft. The time will be depend on the thickness of the fish.

    Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves 🌿, serve hot.
