Cut all Pomfret and make at least 2-3 slits in the flesh on both sides so that the fish absorbs the marinade well. Clean and wash pomfrets fish.

Make a marinade paste by mixing ginger- garlic paste with salt, coriander powder, turmeric, cumin powder, garam masala powder, red chili powder and lemon juice. Apply this paste over all Pomfret and marinate for 20-30 minutes.

Heat oil as required for shallow frying in a non-stick pan or tawa. Place the marinated fish in a pan and fry without coating. Or fry the marinated fish by coating it with rice flour or semolina on both sides before frying.

Carefully place the pomfret in the pan and fry on low-medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until well browned, crispy and the pomfret is cooked well.

Remove from the pan and transfer the fried pomfret to a kitchen tissue to remove excess oil. Serve hot with roti or rice as a side dish.
