Easy Creamy Croque Monsieur-style Toast

I love the croque monsieur served at a French style cafe I frequent. The regular way is to sandwich the filling between two slices of bread and to bake it, but you can enjoy the flavor with a version using just one slice of bread topped with the filling.
-Adjust the amount of time it takes to cook the bechamel sauce depending on your microwave oven.
-If you add a little nutmeg to your sauce, it really tastes like the type of thing you can get at a cafe. Recipe by Punopuno

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Make the bechamel sauce in the microwave. Put the butter and flour in a heatproof container, and microwave without covering for 1 minute.
- 2
Mix the melted butter and flour together while you add 1/2 of the milk gradually. When it's smooth, microwave for 1 minute.
- 3
Add the rest of the milk gradually while mixing. When it's smooth again, microwave for another minute.
- 4
Season with salt and pepper, and add a little nutmeg if you have it. The bechamel sauce is done.
- 5
Put the ham, 1-2 tablespoons of sauce, and cheese on the bread in that order, and toast in a toaster oven.
- 6
When the cheese has melted and browned nicely it's done.
- 7
I used an English muffin here.
- 8
Great as a hot panini sandwich too.

Easy Croque-Monsieur Style French Toast Easy Croque-Monsieur Style French Toast
French toast can be cooked in a variety of ways. I made my usual croque-monsieur using French toast.I recommend using both hands, not utensils, such as chopsticks, in the steps from soaking the bread in the egg mixture to toasting in a frying pan, since the bread becomes heavy after absorbing the egg mixture. For 1 serving. Recipe by Kotobukisan cookpad.japan -

Focaccia Croque Monsieur Bread Focaccia Croque Monsieur Bread
I like soft focaccia, so I always add skim milk powder to the dough. I thought that if I added cheese too it would be even more delicious and tried it out.If you like rich food, use 2 slices of cheese per piece. You can also try adding lots of bechamel sauce. But make sure you can seal the doug. If the sauce is too runny, it's hard to seal the dough, so it should be stiff enough that it doesn't run out. Recipe by Pu-kosan cookpad.japan -
Fluffy Creamy French Toast Fluffy Creamy French Toast
I've been making French toast this way for a long time. I made them with soy milk this time. For those who want to make a low-calorie version:Use soy milk. Instead of sugar, I use 1 teaspoon of an erythritol-based low-calorie sweetener, and leave out the butter and oil.The key is to thoroughly infuse the bread with the egg mixture. Soaking overnight gives a perfect result. If you're in a hurry, let the bread soak for at least 20 minutes. For 2 servings. Recipe by Karupinetto cookpad.japan -

I've been making this forever. When you make pizza, this can be used instead of mozzarella. The cheese melts so softly that it's delicious. The jam is added as a 'hidden flavor', since mayonnaise and cheese alone is rather sharp. Don't put in too much or the flavor becomes a bit odd. Just as the name suggests, the overall taste is creamy and when teamed with whole wheat bread, it becomes healthy too!Sweet corn has a number of health benefits and it’s sweet taste imparts a wonderful flavour to the dishes in which it is used! In this recipe, I have ground 2/3 rd of the boiled corn to make it creamy and teamed it with some white sauce. The rest of the corn has been kept whole for the added crunch! The cheddar and pizza cheese just adds up to the overall taste and makes this dish quite filling too! Pooja M. Pandit -

I recommend eating free-range eggs.Ideally, soak the bread in the liquid for at least 1 hour, but you can speed the process by pressing down with a spatula.
