Chicken and Dumplings the way it was

When growing up my Mom would make some chicken, and Dumplings, it only would have 1 gizzard in it. So I wanted to make sure there was enough gizzards to go around. Usually I got the gizzard, when my mom served her chicken and Dumplings. My dad and brothers knew how much I loved boiled gizzards. The gizzards chopped up in this version, gives a nice textured chew, not too chewy, as they are tender by boiling.

Boil the chicken, thighs, and gizzards, in the pot with water in it. Add in the spices. When chicken is done remove from pot stick in the freezer to cool. Take out and remove the skin. Take the meat off the bone. Chop the gizzards.

Add dumplings and all the chicken pieces to pot.

Cook allowing, to thicken with the butter. Serve I hope you enjoy!!!!
