Assemble ingredients, Grind soaked Dal into smooth paste or can be kept bit coarse.

In pan / kadhai, add ghee, then gradually add Moong Dal and keep stirring. At first it will be lumpy.

Gradually lumps will break by continuously stirring under low flame.

Roast till you get the nutty aroma, after Dal is fully roasted, then add milk + saffron milk and stir well for 4-5 minutes. Then add water + cardamom and stir well till water evaporates. Lastly add 2-3 tbsp ghee + sugar and mix well.
Simmer for 4-5 minutes till water from sugar evaporates and ghee is seen on surface. Also mixture starts leaving pan. - 5
Mix for Modak is ready. Transfer to a plate / thali and allow to cool. Discard cardamom pods.

Then take required portions from mixture and give shape of Modak.

Modak is ready for offering and also ready to serve.
