First, wash the whole urad dal and kidney beans and soak them overnight.
Then, drain the water from the lentils, wash them, put them in a pressure cooker, add salt, and boil with 2 1/2 cups of water (three times the amount of lentils). After the first whistle in the cooker, reduce the heat and let the lentils cook on low heat for 5-6 minutes, then turn off the heat.

Now, peel and wash the tomatoes, green chilies, and half of the ginger, and grind them finely in a blender. Heat ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder, and stir with a spoon. Then add the tomato and green chili paste and cream to this spice mix. Stir with a spoon and sauté until oil starts to float on top of the spices.

Add the cooked lentils to these sautéed spices once the pressure cooker is opened. Add water to the lentils as needed. After it comes to a boil, cook for 3-4 minutes. Add garam masala and half of the cilantro and mix. Dal Makhani is ready.
