I love Thai food so much that I often eat two plates of stir-fried water spinach at my favorite restaurant. However, each plate costs about 1000 yen. One day, I noticed that my local supermarket was selling water spinach for about 120 yen, so I bought it immediately and tried to recreate the restaurant's flavor at home.

Ingredients

  1. 1 bag(about 7 oz) water spinach
  2. 1 tablespoon★olive oil
  3. 3-4 cloves★garlic (or use garlic paste)
  4. Sliced red chili peppers, to taste ★
  5. 1 teaspoon☆chicken bouillon powder
  6. 1 tablespoon☆fish sauce
  7. 2 tablespoons☆sake

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the water spinach well, trim the roots slightly, then cut into 1 1/2 to 2-inch pieces and drain well. Chop the garlic.

    Add the ★ ingredients to a frying pan and heat over low heat to bring out the aroma, then turn to high heat and add the water spinach all at once.

    When the water spinach turns a bright green, add the ☆ ingredients and stir-fry lightly to finish.
