Super Easy Basic Soy Sauce Ramen Soup

You can make this classic, beloved flavor just by dissolving seasonings in hot water. Feel free to add pepper or garlic to taste.

Recipe background:
I used to make this with a more elaborate method, but when I tried using just the minimum ingredients, it turned out simple and delicious! This works too! Chinese soup base is amazing. At home, I use a Chinese soup base paste.

For the noodles this time, I used pasta cooked with baking soda to mimic Chinese-style noodles, so they turned out a bit thicker and straight.

Ingredients

Serves 1 serving
  1. See steps for amount Chinese soup base (paste or granules)
  2. 2 teaspoonssoy sauce
  3. 2 teaspoonstoasted sesame oil
  4. 1 1/4 cupshot water (300 ml)

Steps

  1. 1

    If using a semi-paste Chinese soup base (like Chinese soup base paste):
    Use 1 1/2 to 2 teaspoons.

    If using a granulated Chinese soup base:
    Use 1/2 to 1 1/2 tablespoons, adjusting to taste (the strength varies by brand).

    Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix well. That's it!
