Ingredients

30 minutes
3 serves
  • 1 bowlfull of mixed Dal (lentils) Mung Dal,chana dal, urad dal
  • 1Tomato
  • 1onion
  • 3green chillies
  • 3 clovesgarlic
  • 1 inchginger
  • 2 tbspfresh coriander
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1 tspchilli powder
  • 1 tbspcoriander powder
  • 1 tbsplemon juice
  • 1 tbspoil
  • 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  • 1 tspCumin and Carom seeds
  • 1Dry red chilli
  • 1Bay leaf
  • 1/4 tspAsafoetida

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and Soak the lentils for 10 minutes.
    Finely chopped onion tomato chilli garlic and ginger.
    After 10 minutes,boil the Dal using 1 litre of water.
    Mix chilli turmeric and coriander powder with little water in the bowl.
    Make everything ready.

    Add oil in a pan
    Add mustard, cumin and carrom seeds together with asafoetida.
    After that add Chilli Garlic and ginger.
    Saute for a while then add onion tomato and salt accordingly.

    When tomatoes become mushy,
    Add a mixture of spices with little water.
    Let the masala cook well.
    Then add boiled Dal and coriander.
    Lastly add lemon juice,Boil it for 3-4 minutes then switch off the heat.

    Vitamin rich mixed lentils are ready.
    Transfer into serving bowl.
    Sprinkle coriander and serve hot.
    Enjoy..
