Coarse spice powder - In a pan add whole coriander, cumin, bay leaf, whole black peppercorns, black cardamoms, roast for 2-3 mins, add to blender and make a coarse powder, set aside

In a wok heat mustard oil, add sliced onion and cook till golden in colour

Add washed mutton and sauté for 5 mins, add ginger garlic paste and cook for 5 mins

Add half boiled Chana Dal. Add spice powder of turmeric, red chilli, coriander, cumin, black peppercorns and mix well, cook for 10 mins

Add little water and stir once.

Add chopped tomatoes, slit green chiliies and adequate water to cook the mutton. Add whisked yoghurt, mix. Cover to cook for 25 -30 mins

Once done, set aside

Plate with garnish of ginger julienned, coriander leaves
Tips
Chana Dal should be soaked overnight and half boiled
