Bring 2 cups of both, 2 cups of milk, 3 tbsp of butter, and salt to a gentle boil.

Add grits and whisk.

Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Cover and set aside.

Cook bacon and chop up. Drain all but 1 tbsp of the grease.

Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Cook in bacon grease for about 2 minutes per side.

Add 1 tbsp of butter and 1/2 cup of broth to the shrimp and stir.

Stir in cheese to grits until melted.
