This stew is terrific, full of flavor and colourful. It's made from apple, dried apricot and meat ( lamb/ beef/chicken). Just delicious.

This stew is terrific, full of flavor and colourful. It's made from apple, dried apricot and meat ( lamb/ beef/chicken). Just delicious.

Place meat cubes with enough water in a pot and cook it until is tender.If there is left some meat juice, you could save it for adding to stew. Once it is cooked, set it aside.

In a pan add 3 tbs of olive oil, add sliced onions, saute until soft.

Then add cooked meat and saute for 5 minutes more, stir occasionally.

Add spices and mix it with onions and meat. Add 2 tbs of saffron water and cinnamon stick. Let it to saute for couple of minutes. Add chopped apples and apricot with saved meat juice or 1 cup of water. Cover the pot with lid and simmer 15 minutes. Meanwhile, cook the rice with spices. Garnish the stew with flaked almonds.
