This dish was served to me as an appetizer at a wedding. My brother kept saying how much he enjoyed it and asked me to try and recreate it. Over time the dish seems to have gotten better.

Ingredients

  1. marinade
  2. 1 lbchicken breast; thinly sliced or cut up to small cubes
  3. 2 tspcornstarch
  4. 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  5. 1eggs
  6. 1 tbspsoy sauce
  7. 1ground black pepper
  8. Others
  9. 4 tbspvegetable oil
  10. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  11. 1 tspfresh grated ginger
  12. 2garlic cloves
  13. 4green chillies slit in half lengthwise
  14. 1ground black pepper
  15. 1/2 tspground cumin
  16. 1/4 tspchili powder
  17. 2 tbspchili garlic sauce
  18. 1/2 tspgaram masala
  19. 1/4 cupplain yogurt
  20. 3 tbspcoriander leaves
  21. 1few teaspoons of red food color
  22. 1few drops of water
  23. 1salt
  24. 1thinly sliced green onions (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    In a bowl mix together all of the ingredients listed in marinade and leave it for at least 30 minutes.

    Fry the marinated chicken in hot oil till golden and keep it aside.

    In a pan heat the oil listed in others. When the oil is hot, put the cumin seeds and wait for it to splutter a bit. Put in the ginger, garlic and green chilies. Fry for a few minutes.

    Add the ground cumin, chili powder, garam masala, chili garlic sauce, black pepper and salt into the pan and fry for a few minutes. Add a few tablespoons of water and the drops of red food color and mix well.

    Add the fried chicken pieces into the pan and coat the chicken with the spices for a few minutes. Add the yogurt into the pan and coat chicken evenly. Adjust the spices if needed. Add the coriander leaves and mix well.

    Turn off the flame. Put it on a serving dish and garnish with thinly sliced green onions. Enjoy!!!
