Ingredients

  • 2 cupheavy cream
  • 1 cupwhole milk
  • 2/3 cupsugar
  • 5 largeegg yolks
  • pinchsalt
  • 2 tspvanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 tsppumpkin spice
  • orange food coloring

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix cream, milk, and sugar.

  2. 2

    Beat egg yolks.

  3. 3

    Temper egg yolks with the hot mixture.

  4. 4

    Combine tempered egg yolks with the rest of the mixture.

  5. 5

    Heat until mixture reaches 170°.

  6. 6

    Add pumpkin spice, vanilla, salt, and food coloring.

  7. 7

    25 minutes in the Cuisinart.
