Steps

Preheat the oven to 350 (180 degrees). Grease the the baking pan and line the base with baking paper or light flour.

Mix water, sugar, cocoa, butter and soda in a medium saucepan.

Stir over heat without boiling until sugar dissolves. Bring to boil reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 5 mins. Transfer mixture to a large bowl and let it cool.

Add flour and eggs to the bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth and pale in color.

Pour mixture in a baking pan and bake for 50 mins or until the inserted toopick comes out clean. Cool for 10 mins

Turn top side side onto wire rack to cool completely before frosting

Chill the mixing bowl and beaters for about an hour.

Combine the icing sugar, cream and vanilla with an electric mixer in the chilled mixing bowl until the mixture is stiff. Do not over whip. Decorate cake as desired.
