Melt butter in a 3 quart saucepan

Stirr in brown sugar and salt, until smooth

Blend in corn syrup

Gradually add sweetened condensed milk, stirring constantly

Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently to firm ball stage 248°F

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla
- 7
Pour into buttered 9x12 baking dish and let cool, cut and wrap in waxed paper
