
Cottage pie
This is a family staple perfect for cold winter nights.
Steps

Brown the mince in hot oil

Add the diced carrot, celery and bacon

Fry gently for a couple of minutes

Add parsley and gravy granules and a cup of water and stir until gray thickens
- 5
Add salt and pepper to taste

Peel and quarter potatoes and boil until tender (about 10 minutes)

Mash potatoes with milk and butter
- 8
Place mince mixture in the bottom of a high sided oven proof dish

Top with mashed potatoes and roughly fork the surface

Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at about 180 degrees until the top is golden and the gravy bubbling

Serve with vegetables of your choice. Cabbage or sprouts are nice!
