Beetroot Chilli Chutney

Ingredients

  1. 6 largebeetroots
  2. 2fingers fresh ginger
  3. 2red chillies
  4. 1juice and zest of 1 lemon
  5. 1juice and zest of one orange
  6. 1apple
  7. 2 cupgranulated sugar
  8. 1 cupmalt vinager
  9. 1 cupred wine
  10. 1/2 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Peel and grate apple and beets and ginger

  2. 2

    Zest and juice orange and lemon

  3. 3

    Place all ingredients in large saucepan and bring to a rolling boil

  4. 4

    Simmer for up to an hour. The chutney will thicken into a jam like consistency

  5. 5

    Leave to cool then jar-up, label and give to your mum, auntie or friendly neighbour x
