preheat oven to 175°C (350°F)

cream butter, brown sugar and white sugar, until smooth.

beat in eggs one at a time. then add the vanilla.

dissolve baking soda and salt in hot water. then add to mixture.

stir in flour. then add chocolate chips.
- 6
roll into balls and press down on a ungreased tray for 10 minutes or until edges are golden.
