Ingredients

4 oztomato paste
2 tbspolive oil, extra virgin
1/2 lbground beef or chopped beef
1chopped onion
1garlic clove minced
1 1/4 cupwarm water
1bay leaf
1/4 cupred wine
salt and pepper

Steps

Brown meat with onions, garlic and olive oil in sauce pan for about 10 minutes.

Add tomato paste and stir in well, cook for about 3 minutes at medium heat.

Salt and pepper to taste. Mix in water, red wine and place bay leaf in pan. Cover and simmer for an hour.

Remove bay leaf and simmer an additional 30 minutes.
