Ingredients

  1. 1 big bunch Sarson leaves (mustard leaves)
  2. 1 bunchSpinach leaves
  3. 1/2 bunchBathua leaves (Chenopodium album)
  4. 1/4 bunchgreen methi(optonal)
  5. 2onions chopped
  6. 2tomatoes chopped
  7. 5green chillies crushed
  8. 4-5garlic pods finely chopped
  9. 1/2 inchginger piece crushed
  10. 2 tspMakki flour (Cornmeal)
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. as neededDesi ghee or butter

Steps

  1. 1

    Roughly chop the cleaned, washed leaves of Sarson, Spinach (don’t remove spinach stalks) and Bathua. Pressure cook for 1 hour

  2. 2

    Cool and coarsely puree in a food processor

  3. 3

    Add makki ka atta green chillies and paste of ginger to this sag. Add salt.Cook for 10-15 minutes.

  4. 4

    In a pan heat 1 tsp butter and oil. Add,chopped garlic and onion.Sauté till onions become translucent

  5. 5

    Add chopped tomato to it and cook till butter comes out.Add sag to itand cook for 5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Serve hot butter or ghee on top with Makki Ki roti
