Heat a pan add the ghee and toast the broken wheat (daliya) on a low flame

Stir continuously to avoid sticking of the wheat

Roasted it for 5-10 minutes

Now add water and cover it.

Keep it on a low flame for 15-20 minutes

Stir occasionally removing the lid

As all the water is absorbed by the wheat switch off the flame and mix well

Now add food colour in the sugar and mix it well into the broken wheat mixture

Again switch on the flame and keep it low.start cooking it again stirring in between

After cooking for 10 minutes switch off the flame and allow it to cool

Add fennel seeds and chopped dry fruits and mix well

Pour it into a bowl and garnish with chopped dry fruits

The laapsi is ready
