Ingredients

  1. 1 cupraw moong dal
  2. 1.1/2 cupsmall cubed lauki
  3. 2medium sized karela chopped finely into rounds
  4. 1 tbspscraped coconut
  5. 2 tspghee
  6. 2 tspmustard oil
  7. 1dry red chilli
  8. 1/2 tspmustard,methi and radhuni
  9. 1/2 tsphaldi
  10. To tastesalt and sugar
  11. 1/2 tspginger paste
  12. 1 tbspchopped coriander

Steps

  1. 1

    Cube lauki and pressure cook in little salted water upto 2 whistles,release steam and open lid

  2. 2

    Lauki should not be overcooked.Set aside.Pressure cook dal with little haldi, salt and ghee

  3. 3

    Dal should not be overcooked.Meanwhile fry chopped karela and set aside.In the remaining oil sprinkle mustard, methi,radhuni and broken red chilli.When they splutter, add it to the cooked dal.Add ginger paste and boiled lauki.

  4. 4

    While the dal is boiling add the fried karela and also scraped coconut.

  5. 5

    Garnish with chopped coriander and ghee.Serve with rice.
