Ingredients

8 servings
  1. 5 1/4 tspblack pepper
  2. 1 1/2 tbsptable salt
  3. 5 1/4 tspseasoned salt
  4. 5 1/4 tspgarlic powder
  5. 5 1/4 tsponion powder
  6. 2 cupsflour
  7. 1 canPabst Blue Ribbon (PBR) beer
  8. Peanut oil
  9. 8raw catfish filets

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 450

  2. 2

    Rinse catfish filets with water

  3. 3

Fill a large bowl or gallon ziploc with beer and soak the catfish for a while (I went with around 20 minutes)

  4. 4

Put all dry ingredients (black pepper, salt, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and flour) into gallon ziploc bag and thoroughly mix them together.

  5. 5

Take catfish out of the beer and put them in the dry ingredients (the beer will make them stick to the fish)

  6. 6

Pour a layer of peanut oil in a skillet and get it bubbling (don't turn heat too high or it WILL produce smoke)

  7. 7

Fry the catfish (2 minutes per side should suffice)

  8. 8

Put a layer of aluminum foil on baking sheet and place filets evenly on it

  9. 9

    Bake for 10 minutes

  10. 10

Done! Now you have crispy beer battered deliciousness!
