Ingredients

  • 1 cuprava
  • 2 tbspoil or ghee
  • 1/2-3/4 tspmustard
  • 1/2-3/4 tspcumin
  • 1 tspurad dal
  • 2 tbsppeanuts
  • leavesCurry
  • 1small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1green chilli (slit)
  • 1/2 tspginger (finely crushed)
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped carrot
  • 1 tbspfinely chopped capsicum
  • 2 1/2-2 3/4 cupwater
  • Lemon juice (as per ur taste)

Steps

  1. 1

    Roast rava on a medium flame until crunchy. Transfer to a bowl.cool it.

  2. 2

    Add oil or ghee to a pan. Add mustard, cumin and urad dal. Fry until the dal turns to golden.

  3. 3

    Now add green chilles, curry leaves and ginger. Saute it for a minute.

  4. 4

    Add onions and fry until transparent.

  5. 5

    Now add carrot and capsicum. Saute it.

  6. 6

    Pour water and add salt and lemon juice as needed.

  7. 7

    Set the flame to medium. With one hand pour rava in a pan to the boiling water. While you stir the rava in the water with ur other hand. Stir it continuously.

  8. 8

    Cover and cook on a low flame for 3 - 5 min.

  9. 9

    Open the lid and stir once. Switch off the gas burner and cover again. Leave it for 5 min.

  10. 10

    Ready to eat hot upma with curd or chutney.
