Ingredients

4 servings
  • 4 (6 oz)ahi tuna steaks
  • Sea salt, white pepper, and garlic powder
  • 1/4 cupwhite sesame seeds
  • 1/8 cupblack sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsCanola oil for frying
  • Garnishment
  • Wasabi
  • Oyster sauce
  • Lemongrass paste
  • Fresh cilantro

Steps

    Remove fish from packages. Do not rinse.

  2. 2

    Sprinkle both sides with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Mix both sesame seeds in a lg flat dish.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a LG frying pan on medium high heat until oil just starts to smoke.

  5. 5

    Dredge tuna in sesame seeds coating all sides and edges.

  6. 6

    Sear 1 minute each side. Just until white sesame seeds start turning golden brown.

  7. 7

    Remove tuna to a cutting board. Let rest 2 minutes. Slice tuna about 3/8 of an inch thick. Arrange on a plate either how shown in the picture or in a fan pattern. Garnish accordingly. Serve immediately. Enjoy.

cooking is a passion of mine. I started when I was very young and I had to drag a milk crate around to see over the counter. taught by a career cook (my grandmother ). I have always tried to push the boundaries of conventional cooking. I prefer cooking wild game. when I can get my hands on it, but fish is more readily available for me. I raise and butcher most of the livestock that I use for my conventional recipes. I hope everyone can find a few recipes they like in my list.
