Ingredients

  • 2 tbspOil or butter
  • 1 tspCoriander powder
  • 200-250 gramsfresh paneer chopped into cubes or squares
  • 1/2 cupcream
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsproasted jeera powder
  • 1medium onion chopped finely
  • 1 tspginger garlic paste crushed or paste
  • 1/8 tspGaram masala powder
  • 1/4 tspkasuri methi optional
  • 1/2capsicum chopped finely optional
  • 2 tbspchopped coriander leaves optional
  • to tasteSalt

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and saute onion until it's brown in colour.
    Add the crushed ginger-garlic paste. Saute for 20-30 seconds or until the raw smell fades.

    Add the capsicum. Stir and sauté for a minute.
    Now add coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and roasted cumin powder.

    Stir the spices well; add the paneer cubes, coriander leaves and salt. Gently mix and ensure the masala coats the paneer from all sides.

  4. 4

    Add the cream and stir gently. Once the cream is absorbed after 2-3 minutes the mixture will start getting dry.

  5. 5

    Add little more cream if you like to have some gravy.

  6. 6

    Finally add the roasted kasuri methi over the top.

  7. 7

    Switch off the gas and serve malai paneer hot with salad, roti or rice.
