Ingredients

  1. 4 poundsfrozen octopus, thawed
  2. 14 ozstewed tomatoes
  3. 1onion diced
  4. 2 tablespoonsolive oil
  5. 4garlic cloves minced
  6. 2bay leaves
  7. 1 teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
  8. 2 tablespoonscapers
  9. 10klamata olives
  10. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  11. 1 teaspoonItalian seasoning
  12. 1/2 teaspoonanchovy paste
  13. 2 tablespoonslemon juice
  14. salt if necessary
  15. crusty bagette bread toasted

Steps

  1. 1

    Combine all ingredients except salt and bread in pot, bring to a boil then simmer covered for an hour, poke octopus with fork, if fork slides in easily it's done, if not simmer for another 30 minutes.

    Remove octopus and cut into bite size pieces, taste sauce, if necessary add salt. Add octopus back to sauce, serve with warm crusty bread and top with parmesan cheese if you like, enjoy!
