I use this delicious recipe to serve 2 - 1 pound burgers but this recipe can easily serve 4. Just adjust the recipe accordingly.

Ingredients

  1. Meat Mixture
  2. 2 Pounds80/20 Quality Ground Beef
  3. 3 DashesWorchestershie Sauce
  4. 1 tspGranulated Garlic
  5. 1 tspFresh Ground Black Pepper [+ reserves]
  6. 1 BoxLiptons Onion Soup Mix [use both packages]
  7. 1/4 CupFresh Green Onions
  8. 1/8 CupDehydrated Onions
  9. ● Additions
  10. 8 SlicesSwiss Cheese
  11. 1EX LG Viadalia White Onion
  12. 1 CubeSalted Butter
  13. 1EX LG Purple Onion
  14. as needed Yellow Mustard
  15. ● For The Bread
  16. 1 LoafQuality Russian Rye Bread

Cooking Instructions

    Mix everything in your Meat Mixture section together well.

    Using a Mandolin - thick slice your onions.

    Onions really are the secret in this dish!

    Fry your onions in a cube of salted butter and add a good dash of black pepper.

  4. 4

    Fry until onions are translucent. Drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Mold your patties larger than your widest pieces of Rye Bread slices. They will shrink slightly upon cooking.

    Using the same onion pan - fry your burgers to taste or preference.

    Use a quality deli style Swiss Cheese.

    Add 4 pieces of Swiss cheese to each patty and steam burgers [covered] for 1 minute.

    Use a fresh quality rye bread.

    Lightly toast your Rye slices.

    Plate up and serve hot with Onion Rings and ice cold beers in frosted glasses.
