Peel the purple yam and grate it.

Heat oil in a pan meanwhile.

Start frying the grated purple yam in small bunches. Remember these are sticky so spread them properly in oil. Flame should be low to medium.

Similarly fry the peanuts, split chickpeas,curry leaves and green chillies.

Now add the powdered sugar and salt according to your taste and mix well all the ingredients.

Purple yam chivda is ready to be enjoyed. This recipe can also be tried during fasting.
