Ingredients

  1. 1 bowlsoaked rice
  2. 2 bowlscooked tur dal diluted
  3. Chopped veggies
  4. as neededCarrots,beans, potatoes, drumsticks,onions, tomatoes
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 1 tspMustard seeds
  7. 1 tbspnpeanuts
  8. 1 tspGaram masala / whole spice powder
  9. 1 tspred chilli powder(add more if u want it spicy)
  10. 1 tspTurmeric powder
  11. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  12. 1 tbspjaggery
  13. 2 tbspTamrind pulp
  14. as neededCoriander leaves for garnishing
  15. as neededGhee for serving

Steps

  1. 1

    Collect all ingredients in a place

    Take oil in a pressure cooker add Mustard seeds and peanuts and asafoetida,turmeric powder and saute. Add veggies, red chilli powder and garam masala and mix well

    Add dal, Soaked rice, tamrind pulp, jaggery, salt and 2-3 cups of water and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Note: water and dal quantity is more than rice in proportion to make the rice in flowing batter consistency.

    Ready to serve with ghee..
