Ingredients

3-4 servings
  1. 5-7spring Onions
  2. 4medium sized tomatoes
  3. 1 cupbesan/gram flour
  4. 1 tbspgrated ginger
  5. 1 tbspgrated garlic
  6. 2Green chillies (slit in two halves)
  7. 1 tbspoil
  8. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  9. 1/2 tbspturmeric powder
  10. 1/2 tbspred chilli powder
  11. 1 tbspsalt
  12. 1 1/2 cupoil for frying
  13. 1/2 tbspcumin seeds
  14. 2 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

    Finely chop the spring onions.Mix gram flour,spring onion,1/2 tbsp red chilli powder and 1/2 tbsp salt with water to get medium consistency batter.

    Make kofta balls from the batter and deep fry the balls.Keep them aside.

    Grate the tomatoes.Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add 1 tbsp oil to it.Add cumin seeds.When the seeds start crackling add ginger,garlic and green chillies.Add grated tomatoes,1/2 tbsp red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder and salt.Saute for a minute or so and then let it cook till oil separates from the spices.

    Add 1 1/2 cup water and bring it to boil.Let it cook for 5-7 minutes.Add the Kofta balls and cook for another 5 minutes.Transfer into the serving bowl.Enjoy with chapati or parathas.
