The first time I learnt how to turn parmesan cheese into a crisp, I was amazed that there were no other ingredients required. They look impressive too

Grate the parmesan on a fine grater, then line a baking tray/sheet with either a silicone matt (best option) or directly onto the tray if non-stick. If you use baking paper/parchment your fan oven is likely to lift it up and destroy your crisps. Use a cutter or ring to keep your crisps neat. Leave at least 1 cm gap between each crisp.

Bake at 180c for between 5 and 10 minutes, until the cheese has melted, if they go a dark brown they are burnt, if you want to leave them as flat disc just carefully lift off the tray onto a plate and let cool, if they do not go crisp then they need another couple of minutes in the oven. They will set as soon as they cool. If you want to form a curve act quickly and lift onto a rolling pin or other cylinder, at any time if they start to crisp before you have shaped just put back in the oven
