Ingredients

  1. 1. Curry leaves - 1 cup
  2. 2. Oil - 1 tsp
  3. 3. Channa dal - 1 tsp
  4. 4. Urid dal - 1 tsp
  5. 5. Red chilli - 5
  6. 6. Hing - pinch
  7. 7. Tamarind - 1/2 gooseberry
  8. 8. Salt - as needed
  9. To temper:
  10. 1. Oil - 1 tsp
  11. 2. Mustard - 1/2 tsp
  12. 3. Dry chilli - 1

Steps

  1. 1

    1. Heat 1 tsp of oil in kadai add channa dal and saute until it change golden colour. Add urid dal and saute until change golden. Now add red chilli and saute a bit. Cook in medium flame.

    2. Now add washed curry leaves, hing. Saute a bit and cool down.

    3. Grind curry leaves with roasted dal, tamarind and salt.

    4. Heat 1 tsp of oil in small kadai add mustard and dry chilli. Once mustard tempered pour this over the chutney.

    5. Serve hot with idli or dosa..
