Rava Roti / Suji Thalipeeth with Red Coconut Chutney

It's a healthy, quick fix breakfast dish. Tastes best when had fresh, tends to turn dry and stiff if kept for long. A bowlful of curd and chutney are the best accompaniments for this simple dish :)

It's a healthy, quick fix breakfast dish. Tastes best when had fresh, tends to turn dry and stiff if kept for long. A bowlful of curd and chutney are the best accompaniments for this simple dish :)
Steps
- 1
For the Rava Roti / Suji Thalipeeth : Take the suji, add the curd, cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, onion, coriander leaves, coconut, salt and about 3/4 cup warm water.
- 2
Mix lightly. Set aside for 15-20 mins.
- 3
Now grease your palms with a little ghee /oil. Add some more water as required, knead the mixture into a soft and smooth dough.
- 4
Heat a nonstick tawa, spread 1 tsp oil, take a ball of dough, spread out into a round, pressing down with a spatula or simply use your hands to make a round (just as when you would make Thalipeeth).
- 5
Cover and cook on low heat until golden brown and crisp from both sides, adding a little more oil or ghee when you flip it over.
- 6
Serve hot with chutney of choice.
- 7
For the Red Coconut Chutney : Add all the ingredients in a small blender, add a little water and grind until smooth.
