Ingredients

4-6 servings
  • For the Rava Roti / Suji Thalipeeth
  • 3-3.5 cupsSemolina / Rava / Suji
  • 1-1.5 cupsCurd
  • As requiredWarm Water
  • 1-2finely chopped Onions
  • 1-2finely chopped Green Chillies
  • 2 tbspgrated, fresh Coconut (optional)
  • 2 tbspfinely chopped fresh Coriander Leaves
  • 1 tspCumin Seeds / Zeera
  • 1/4 tspAsafoetida / Hing
  • To tasteSalt
  • As requiredOil / Ghee
  • For the Red Chutney
  • 1 cupgrated / chopped fresh Coconut
  • 2Whole Red Chillies
  • 5-6 clovesGarlic
  • 1/2 tspCumin Seeds
  • 1 tspGunpowder / Podi / Dry Red Chilli- Lasun Chutney
  • 2 tbspCurd
  • To tasteSalt
  • As requiredWater

Steps

    For the Rava Roti / Suji Thalipeeth : Take the suji, add the curd, cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, onion, coriander leaves, coconut, salt and about 3/4 cup warm water.

    Mix lightly. Set aside for 15-20 mins.

    Now grease your palms with a little ghee /oil. Add some more water as required, knead the mixture into a soft and smooth dough.

    Heat a nonstick tawa, spread 1 tsp oil, take a ball of dough, spread out into a round, pressing down with a spatula or simply use your hands to make a round (just as when you would make Thalipeeth).

    Cover and cook on low heat until golden brown and crisp from both sides, adding a little more oil or ghee when you flip it over.

    Serve hot with chutney of choice.

    For the Red Coconut Chutney : Add all the ingredients in a small blender, add a little water and grind until smooth.
