  • 2 kgpork shoulder
  • Marinate
  • 3 tbspchar siew sauce (lee kum kee) (cheating)
  • 1.5 tbsp5-spice powder
  • 2 tbspwhite pepper
  • 3 tbspsugar
  • 4 tbsplight soy sauce
  • 3 tbspdark soy sauce
  • 3 tbsptau chew
  • 3 tbspoyster sauce
  • 8 tbsphoney
  • 2 tbspchinese rice wine/ black vinegar
  • 2 tspoyster sauce

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut into 1" thick strips

  2. 2

    Marinate strips of meat overnight

    Pre-heat oven to 250C/480F

  4. 4

    Grill for ~30 minutes. Glazing meat at 5-8 min intervals. Flip at 15 min mark. Bring closer to heat source at 20 min mark for burnt bits
