Picked fresh potatoes for free from the backyard after the harvest. The kind owner allowed us to collect them. Here's a snack recipe for everyone to enjoy. Full video on YouTube --> https://youtu.be/BX4dIWNrWKw
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash and peel the potatoes. It's okay if a little peel is left.
- 2
Use a sharp knife to slice the potatoes vertically to get a good size. As you near the end, tilt the potato to slice more easily and minimize waste.
- 3
Rinse the potato slices to remove starch, about 3 times, until the water is clear. Drain and soak in vinegar for 5-10 minutes.
- 4
Drain the vinegar (no need to rinse with water). The vinegar helps make the potatoes crispy and gives them a nice color when fried. Let them dry completely before frying. You can use paper towels or a cloth to absorb the moisture.
- 5
Fry in hot oil at medium-high heat, about 340°F. Spread the potato slices out to prevent sticking and fry in small batches to cook quickly and evenly. When the frying sound quiets down and the chips are golden brown, they're ready.
- 6
Remove and sprinkle with salt while still warm. Use paper towels to absorb excess oil. You'll notice very little oil on the paper towels. This recipe ensures the chips are not greasy. Try making them yourself! You'll get a lot more than store-bought, and it's very cost-effective.

Oil-Free Non-Fried Potato Chips Oil-Free Non-Fried Potato Chips
I experimented with this recipe with my mother because I wanted to make a homemade snack for my children.Use parchment paper, not paper towels. If you slice the potato too thinly, the chips won't have much texture. Also, when you put the slices on the paper, make sure the slices do not overlap or they'll get stuck to each other!Try peeling the slices off the paper occasionally or turning them for best results. The potato chips may not crisp up enough in a 500 W oven, so test it out yourself. Simple salt-flavored tortilla chips weren't available in my neighborhood before, so I've been making my own chips for a while. They're a hit when I serve them to guests with avocado dip, so this has been in my standard repertoire for 12 years. If you are using store-bought corn tortillas, cut them into triangles with scissors. In Step 3, if you find the tortilla mix hard to handle, coat your hands in oil and roll it into balls.Since the chips are served with dip, I didn't salt them. They are delicious when freshly fried, and simply flavored with salt and spices of your choice.Spread the mixture thinly for crispy results. Recipe by Brandy cookpad.japan -
