Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground beef (80/20)
  2. 1/2 lbground mild Italian sausage
  3. 1small onion chopped
  4. 1/2 cchopped bell pepper (any color)
  5. 1 tspolive oil
  6. 1 tspWorcestershire sauce
  7. 1 cloveminced garlic
  8. 1/2 tsporegano
  9. 1/2 tspbasil
  10. 1/2 tspItalian seasoning
  11. 1/2 tspparsley
  12. 1egg beaten
  13. 3/4 cItalian bread crumbs
  14. 2 sliceswhite bread, crumbled
  15. 1 Tblsmilk
  16. 8 ozshredded mozzarella, reserve 3/4 c for topping
  17. 1/4 cparmesan cheese
  18. 1 cmarinara sauce, reserve 1/2 c for later

Cooking Instructions

    In a small skillet heat the olive oil and saute onions and bell peppers

  2. 2

    In a large bowl add meats, onion, bell peppers and all the other ingredients, reserving 3/4 c mozzarella cheese for topping

  3. 3

    Mix throughly with hands

  4. 4

    Form mixture into a loaf and place in a loaf pan or baking dish.

    Spread 1/2 c marina sauce on top

  6. 6

    Place in a 400 degree oven for 50 minutes.

  7. 7

    Remove from oven and top with remaining cheese. Return to oven for 10 more minutes.
