Foil-Baked Oysters with Miso-Mayonnaise

I wanted to make a side dish using in-season oysters, which would go well with plain rice.
It works as a drinking snack too.

I made the ingredient amounts easy to remember.
Please adjust baking time depending on your own toaster oven. The oysters are done when they are browned a bit.

A COOKPAD member who tried this recipe let me know that baking some vegetables with the oysters is really good too. For example: mushrooms, Japanese leek, and so on. Recipe by Jurine

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 200 gramsRaw shucked oysters (meant to be cooked, not eaten raw)
  2. 1 tbsp● Miso
  3. 1 tbspMayonnaise
  4. 1 tbspMirin

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the ● ingredients together. I used large raw oysters but you can also use cooking oysters.

    Make two boat shaped cups out of the aluminium foil.

  3. 3

    Wash the shucked oysters well. Drop them quickly in boiling water with small amount of sake added (about 10 seconds). Take them out immediately and dry well with paper towels.

    Place the oysters in the foil boats and pour the combined ● ingredients over them. Bake in a toaster oven until golden brown for about 12-15 minutes.

    Optionally top with somee chopped green onion and/or serve with lemon. ※You can also cook the oysters with your favorite vegetable - delicious.
